I know this isn't very good, but I was hoping you could help me improve. I'm still a pre-teen, so I'm not writing to get published or anything, just for fun. And please don't be nicer on me just because of my age - I'm only mentioning it because when I post on here, lots of people ask how old I am. Be as harsh as need be. Thanks :)

It was exhilarating, jumping off the Edge.
Jumping a thousand times over but never falling. Killing yourself a million times without ever dying. It left me giddy with the thrill of it all, breathless with its glory.
To me, it was like a drug. I was always wanting more, needing the brilliant feeling of that sudden bliss. I was well aware of the illegality of it, how it violated all rules of the Highest, and that if caught I would no doubt face death.
But I couldn’t stop. Even tonight, with every corner of Ayar crowded with hundreds of Patrol, I found myself surrounded by those ebony trees I knew so well as I made my way to the Forbidden.
Maggie's small voice interrupted my thoughts. “We should go back.”
The night air felt cool on my sweaty skin. I breathed it in, trying to force some of its calmness into myself.
“To where?” I snapped, my voice rising in a struggle to maintain my temper. “There’s –”
“That’s not what I mean. It’s-" She paused. "Something’s not right. We need to leave.”

This is very important that you have a good idea if the narrator is a male/female from this excerpt, so please, just take a guess and try to explain what led you to that decision.

Thank you!!

@Ada I'm not going to use the name "Capitol" or "Peacekeepers" - I'm just temporarily using them until I decide what to name them.

It was exhilarating, jumping of the Edge. Jumping a thousand times over but never falling. Killing yourself a million times over but never dying. It left you giddy with the thrill of it all, left you breathless with its simple glory. To me, it was like a drug. I was always wanting more, needing the brilliant feeling of that sudden bliss. I was well aware of the wrongness of it, how it violated all rules of the Capitol, and that if caught, no doubt I would face immediate death. But I couldn’t stop. Sorry, sort of stops out of nowhere...not all of the first chapter, just all I got written. Oh, and if you're a reader of the Hunger Games, you probably recognized some the names I put in here. I haven't come up with what to name these places yet, so I'm temporarily naming it after Hunger Games places (sorry if that doesn't make much sense...)

Question #18:

Adam and Eve were set up for the fall, just so there would be a reason for Jesus?

What? Seems to me the whole thing is rather contrived and silly. Is God so silly?

Look here, a plan of redemption in which the original sinners were set up in the first place. And if you don't think it was a setup consider this: They just happened to have a talking snake living next door, and it just so happened they had a tree bearing forbidden fruit in their back yard.

What are the chances of that?

And all this so there would be a reason for Jesus? Here's what I'm thinking, and correct me if I'm wrong, I'm thinking otherwise Jesus would have been superfluous.

Yeah, well guess what folks, Jesus WAS superfluous. Why, because the whole thing was a setup; he was superfluous from the get-go!

But again I could be mistaken. If I am, maybe you would like to come on here and tell me about it.

(Funny thing though, when Christians come on here and tell me how mistaken I am, they often end up digging their hole a little deeper.)

Question #19:

Can someone say what they think of/critique this bit from my fantasy novel-to-be? (It has a dragon)?

Context: A girl called Ara and the narrator, a boy called Seth, are sitting on a dragon's back.

I watched as Ara leaned forward to speak to the dragon. ‘Whenever you’re ready.’
The dragon growled and straightened up. It spread its wings out wide and then brought them down hard. I cried out in pain as my balls slammed against its back. Everything lurched violently, blurring and curving. One minute we were barely off the ground, the next the whole Court had dropped away beneath us.
It was like a roller coaster ride, only higher, faster and worse. Pure terror gripped my insides as we soared upwards, spiralling around the tower and into the air. I bit my lip hard to stop myself screaming.
‘Oh, come on!’ Ara laughed. ‘Don’t be a baby!’
‘If we fall we’re going to die!’ I shouted.
I squeezed my eyes shut to block out the sight of the Court shrinking beneath us, then opened them again because I was too afraid to not know what was going on.
‘But this is fun!’ Ara said. She beamed and leaned in toward the dragon. ‘Let’s fly around for a bit!’
‘No!’ I cried. ‘Let’s not! Just land! Please, just – Aaaaaa!’
The dragon had folded its wings and dropped into a steep nosedive toward the Hunting Ground. I could only stare in horror as we shot toward the earth. We skimmed the very tip of the open field’s grass, scattering a group of gossiping girls and overtaking a brownie as it ran for the safety of the trees. The back of my blazer flapped madly behind me. We sped up and the grass blurred, melting into a smooth stream of green. Then we rose once more, higher and higher, to the very end of the Hunting Ground and over the trees of the Wood of Many Ways.
‘Don’t make that face!’ Ara shouted over the wind. ‘You should be having fun! We’re riding a dragon, this is every kid’s dream!’
I just gaped at her. In my stomach there was nothing but dread and nausea. The floor – everything – was so far away, and I would have given anything to be back on my feet.
But gradually the feeling changed. I had never been so high up, or breathed such clean air, or worried about the fact that my shoes could go twirling away and I might never find them.
My fear faded away and I felt awe, exhilaration, as the crisp autumn wind shook my shirt and trousers and swept across my whole body. I breathed in the cool air, let it wash across my skin. We should have long since fallen off and yet we hadn’t. I realized that I was laughing at the top of my voice.
I looked up. High overhead, a stretch of dreary clouds bulged and ruptured. Sunlight spilled over our heads like molten gold, pouring across the trees, the field and the many buildings behind us. The dragon titled its wings and we curled in the air, doubling back to face Alice Tower, our clothes glowing. We returned over the trees and rose slowly, gently, until we landed on a platform cut out of the tower’s roof.
When I’d hopped off I staggered away. My insides swirled and my legs were jelly. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt so good.
I probably never had.
‘Did you enjoy that?’ Ara asked, smirking. Her green and blue eyes glowed like jewels and the edges of her blonde hair were ablaze in the sunlight. Her cheeks were flushed and she didn’t look anything like the girl who’d shrugged me off in the car on the way here.
‘I...’ Several words got caught in my throat at the same time. I had no idea which to force up first, and so I blurted the only thing I could manage. ‘That was awesome!’

Question #20:

is my story worth reading?

“Alice, Wake up girl” I felt someone whisper in my ear. I opened my eyes, It was Josh.
“What’s up?” I asked. This was the first time Josh woke me up, there must be a good reason why. Maybe someone attacked our base, or maybe Jack was giving me another mission.
“Jack told me to wake you up and tell you that-“ Before Josh could tell me what was it, I sobered and began my complaining.
“But I just got back from one, come on, I am tired,” I picked up my pillow and placed it on my head, trying to fall asleep again.
“It’s not that” I heard Josh’s voice faintly, I removed the pillow from my head and set up from the bed that I was sleeping on.
“What is it then?” I asked confused.
“It’s raining like crazy. Me and Jack knew that you love to walk in the rain” I jumped form my bed, grabbed my hoodie and IPod and ran out of the room, but I quickly turned back and hugged Josh.
“Josh, You are the best!” I said and kissed him on the cheek, he grinned.
I blasted my IPod and ran outside, it really was raining like crazy, so I covered my head with the hood. Walking in the rain was enjoyable, but running like crazy blasting Hard Rock would probably be better, so I ran as fast as I could. Suddenly out of nowhere I saw a dog chasing me, god damn, I ran harder, trying to find a tree to climb on. Finally after 15 minutes of running I found a tree and in matter of second I was at the top. The dog was barking from below. I pulled my earphones out and yelled.
“Get away from here you dirty little mutt!” The dog kept barking. Sad that I didn’t bring my weapons here, I would stop him from following me, then it hit me, my pet wolf was afraid of fire, so this mutt could possibly piss if he saw one, so I climbed down slowly, pulled out my lucky lighter and pointed it to the dog, the dog got scared and backed away, I smirked and got closer to the dog, that was the biggest mistake I have ever made.
The rain put out my little weapon, I swear I saw that dog smirk. I tried lighting the fire again, but the rain didn’t quite help.
After fifteen minutes of waiting, the rain stopped and I chased that damn dog for an hour, then I got back to the base, making sure nobody followed me.
