If you get a cat, you have to change the cat liter, unless you get one that goes outside. A dog barks. If you don't have much spare time, a dog would be best, but get a gate around your house. All you have to do to have it go to the bathroom is let it out.

Well, the space really doesn't matter that much...except for large dogs. You can either pick a cat or a small dog(I recommend Cocker Spaniel) but answer these questions first. 1.Are you a clean person?2.Are you a person who doesn't mind your furniture being a bit off?3. Do you like the floor to be always clean?4. Do you not mind if it's a bit wet or muddy? Well, if you answered 2 and 4 to be 'yes', you're better off with a small dog, who doesn't mind cramped space. If you answered 1 and 3, then you'd better get a cat (females are much more clean than males) Hope this helps!

get a cat. they don't mind being alone when you leave, unlike puppies or some older dogs who cry and tend to bite and chew on anything they can find.
