Question #1:

My Indoor Herb Garden.. .?

I seen one fruit fly hoovering about my newly sprouted Dill plant. I just put up the jar of vinegar & oil to attrack him...is there something else I should be doing about this before it really does become a problem??
Also, when the seed package says " Well Drained Soil in Full Sunlight" I am assuming it means lots of light and considerably moist soil - with good drainage. Is this correct, or am I wrong and is that why I'm seeing the fruit fly.." Too Wet."

I thank everyone who responds...

Question #9:

Knowlegable cat people, i need some advice, help - please?

He (my cat) went missing for 2-3 days last week, after a frantic search he turned up in my garden, i got him vets treatment immediately but now he is in a depression. the vet said it lookes like he has had a few hard kicks to his body but a human.
He is neutered and a very warm and loving boy so i dont know why anyone would do this.
He was a rescue cat and in his previous home had had been hurt by his owners, the only reason i ever let him outdoors was because that was what he was used to, and would jump and go crazy at the door if i didnt allow him out. I live in a little and friendly community so it has come as a shock that he could have ended up being hurt in this way.
His physical injuries are healing but the problem is he has sunk into a depression, he is such a sad kitty and it is breaking my heart to see him so down.
I will not let him out again, but i doubt he will want to go out anyway.
Does anyone have any advice on how to help/things i can do to try to heal his emotional scars? he only gets up to eat drink and use his tray, and does this quietly. He isnt bright and happy any more and barely even lifts his head to look at me.
He really is a sweet boy and wouldnt even pounce on a moth.
Thank you

Question #11:

Christians a question comparing Gen:1 and Gen:2?

Now it could be that the account of man's creation is the same, mentioned twice for elabourative purpose. However could it be that man's creation was mentioned twice because there were two creations??(one global, the other local)

Gen 1:27-30
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." 29 And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so.

Gen 2:5-9
When no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up--for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground-- 7 then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 8 And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

So could it be that God created many human beings different all in his image(i.e spiritually)but the Garden of Eden story is speaking of one chosen and blessed to continue eating from the tree of life while others outside Eden were mortal?

Could it speak of Adam being pure in the knowledge of God but being the last to gain insight into everyday moral dillemas and so falling away from his exalted status?

Certainly if God chose Israel to be the vessel of his message throughout history couldn't he choose one man to save the rest of his contemporaries even though all were mortal and had to somehow be made immortal in the ultimate plan?

I know it's crazy stretch of the imagination but maybe that is where evolutionary theory would have no problem with other subspecies existing conteporary to man.
That would explain Cain's wife from Nod ,maybe she was from another race of co created human beings (short of that it was his sister). It would explain ancient cave paintings,Australian rock paintings,New world people living contemporary to civilisations rising out in the near and middle east

Offcourse if the flood of Noah was real and global all the above facts would not matter anyway but is it wrong to think out of the box??

I admit it gives a different view of God but it is evident that in the OT God does not show equal favour to all people, only after the NT is his favour shown in a cosmopolitan way through Jesus ....so is it that surprising to think Adam was favoured among several men by God?

'Nick A'

In Genesis 5 In the KJV indeed all were collectively called Adam but that could speak of only his descendants. It is always the case in the bible. It is very selective on who it mentions as relevant in the context of the entire bible. After Noah only the line of Shem is mentioned the other brothers are excluded. I see no difference here and it makes full sense because why mentioned other humans yet the focus is on Adam?

Significantly the revised version omits the general name Adam and replaces it with man but I’m just giving you an example of how the bible omits certain words and the entire meaning can get changed.

Your mention of Mathew 19 bespeaks of the fact that God still stuck with formula of creating mankind in pairs of male and female it does not mean there was one pair, there could have been many, each being male and female.

'Suzran' I have no problem with the Genesis account of incest,I am fully aware that it is a fact,I'm just givin an alternative view

Question #12:

My dog only barks before bed....?

I have an 18 moth old Staffy X who I have had for just over a year. I moved house 3 weeks ago and he has suddenly started barking. He's never been a noisy dog and he doesn't bark all the time, only when it's dark outside. He tends to growl for about a minute then goes to the back door and barks. When I let him out for his last toilet before bed, he barks outside. When he comes back in he is quiet, but when I go uo to bed, he barks again for a couple of minutes and goes to sleep.

Does anyone know what might be causing it? I have been checking outside and there hasn't been anyone in the garden. My sister has joked about mum coming back as a ghost!

He's as regular as clock work with the barking and doesn't bark at any other point during the day....help!

Question #15:

Do you have a garden?

or does someone in your family?

Question #16:

If God created everything - why didn't he create silicone boobs for females? Ok this a rhetorical question.?

According to Christians there is one one action that caused all the damnation for all of humanity. It was Adam eating the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden of eden and created all these problems for mankind. Because of this, I supposedly inherited a sinful nature and therefore I will now die and go to hell if I don't accept Christ. So my question for Christians since you believe God created everything. Why did God create sin and flesh eating bacteria? Why did he create cancer? If you create a perfect world, why do you fail so miserably at it? Even I myself could have done a better job.
so according to simply man created all bad things.
I just want you to answer the real question. noone has answered yet.
The question is WHY? Why did god create all this bad?

Question #20:

What is a 'radical birth mother'???

Is that different from your average garden variety birth mother??

Is such a concept once again showing the hypocrisy in adoption - where potential birth mothers are praised when they're considering adoption for their newborn before birth - in fact they'll almost thought of as saintly by those that would want their child - but then frowned upon once the act of relinquishment has occurred or if they become too bothersome after the ink has dried on the ownership papers of the child??

Is a 'radical' birth mother named so - simply because she speaks out against unethical practices in adoption??

Shame on her!! She's trying to save people from pain.
How dare she speak her truth to the world!!

Are the many adoptees here that speak up - really 'radical birth mothers' in disguise?? As has been suggested in an answer here -

(and why would they want to hide behind a disguise of an adoptee - that's what really confuses me.......)

For me - I'm just a wee adoptee. No conspiracy theory here.

Come out you radical birth mothers - show yourselves!!
Where are you hiding???
